This is the sector that gave rise to Asociafruit. Today fresh Seville orange exports have declined substantially compared to shipments, primarily to the United Kingdom, in the eighties. However, some operators still handle and market fresh Seville oranges for direct sale to housewives – for marmalade – or for industrial use.
These orchards are now located in well-defined areas of the province of Seville, traditionally the largest producer of this variety: hence the name “Seville” orange.

The Asociafruit Seville orange sector today covers 100% of Spain’s fresh exports of this crop.
